Food safe, this ramen bowl can be used in the microwave and goes in the dishwasher. There is a graceful notch in the rim to use as a stick rest. The notch is purposeful, but its also just a nice edge when using the bowl without sticks. The slip that forms the basis for the decoration on the sides crackles before the glaze is applied and develops a spiderweb-like pattern. We call the patterning "Turtle Skin" because it reminds us of the skin on a sea turtle. The bowl is approximately 7 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 inches tall
