Before firing, the piece is coated with a mica infused slip. At about 1300 degrees, the pot is removed from the kln and feathers, horsehair and sugar are applied to the surface fo the pot. The rising smoke reveal the mica (and the color). Addiionally, the mica adds a certain amount of irridecense to the piece.

Not really all that suitable for either spaghetti or soup. GREAT for yarn.

Yarnbowls are approximately 3 1/2 x 7 inches.
