This vase is the only piece in the group that was finished using the obvara technique. It's a kitcheny mix of flour, water, sugar and yeast and uses the gluten from the flour to for a sort of resist to the carbonation of the flour into the pot. It's a medieval process that was used in the area of the east coast of the Baltic Sea. This pot is approximately 6 1/2 x 4 1/2. Best used with dry contents. It is finished with an acrylic to make easier to clear.
