By virtue of process alone, our yarnbowls are all one-of-a-kind. The colorwork is put onto the piece when the bowl is dry and after fired in an kiln to set that color, the fun begins. The pot is removed from the kiln around 1300 degrees and feathers are gently placed or dragged onto the surface. The resulting smoke adds some very interesting nuances. Yarnbowls are approximately 3 1/2 x 7 inches in dimension.

Lickinflames is proud of it's 45 year history of making pottery using raku, obvara and feather decorations. The beautiful patterns created by saggar firing, especially tin foil saggar simply fascinating. All the work is handmade using stoneware clay.
