Raku Yarn Bowl
Our yarn bowls are all one of a kind because of the processes we use on their surfaces. This bowl was finished in raku. It was glazed and then heated in a kiln to about 1880 degrees before removing it (at 1700 degrees) and then place in a can with combustibles to start a fire, thus removing oxygen from the can. The can is covered and left to cool for about an hour. The lack of oxygen in that can (and leaks in said can) changes the chemicals in the glaze. Wicked cool. Approximately 3 1/5 x 7 inches.
