The Pinch Pot Virtual Workshop (raku)- Friday, October 16th
Deadline for signup is Octobr 9th (end of day).
In this class, Jim will teach the basics of making pinch pots and will focus on a simple vase form. This is a “no fail, no experience required” class, non-judgemental, fun, easy, safe and informative experience to be done at home.
During the virtual class filmed in the LickinFlames studio, multiple cameras capture the interactive class with a moderator fielding questions as Jim demonstrates and works with you as you pinch the clay…live!
Class starts at 3:00 PM (Pacific Time) and runs 1 1/2 hours.
While Jim has over 45 years of experience in making pottery, he will take his time to help to insure that you successfully complete one or two pots.
You will receive a box of instructions and supplies including the clay prior to the class. The hour and a half long class will be captured on video (each class is captured individually) and you will have access to that video. Still pictures will be shared to remind you of key points in the class. This is all done in the comfort of your home. A Zoom address will be sent the day before the scheduled class. No experience with Zoom? No Problem...our Team can walk you through which button to push and get you on line.
The firing will be virtual. Normally there is only a couple of days notice of the firing day. Because of the open flames involved in the raku process, Jim tries to fit the firing in between weather events and regional fire conditions. The firing will be filmed LIVE in two segments during the chosen day.
ALL SHIPPING IS PREPAID! When your pinch pots are completed you will re-box and send the pieces to LickinFlames where they will be fired. The fired pinch pots will be shipped back to you with an air plant included. It take 2-3 weeks to get the pots back to you depending on weather and conditions (think fire safety).
