Large Raku Shawl Pin - 192002
Our handmade clay shawl pins are individually decorated which makes each a unique item. Even though we carefully fire each piece in the same manner, variation occurs and gives unique qualities to the piece.
These smaller versions of our Large Shawl Pin were designed for use with fibers that might not be able support the larger version, alpaca for example. While we call the item a shawl pin, it can be used as a ornament for a sweater, a hat adornment, some have used it as a bag closure.
The iridescence on the pieces is a hallmark of LickinFlames. The shawl pin takes several weeks to dry and then the finishing can take place. When the shawl pins are removed from the kiln and cooled, each is washed, dried and an appropriate brass (also made by LickinFlames) stick is chosen to finish the piece. approx. 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 inches

Remember that because of the handmade nature of the shawl pin, some variations should be expected. The images of the pins shown here are examples and not the actual piece to be sent. The quality is always the same standard that LickinFlames is known for, but some variations in color, design element placement and decoration patterns needs to be allowed. We know you will love the piece that is shipped.
