The square button is the second of the two samples I'm doing for a client. They will be glazed white and the texture will be the subtle focus...the not so subtle focus will be the sweater she will be putting them on.
I impressed myself with making the form for the square button on day 1...made the molds on day 2 and formed the samples on day 3...quick turn around on the project...four more samples to make and then sponging...firing...glazing and then into the raku kiln sometime next week.
The two round buttons are a new idea. I know it doesn't look like it could be a new idea but it is. The buttons are actually a tad thicker (a smidge perhaps) than normal and the pattern making tool forms the dimension in it's process of texturing.
If I think this through and use the right glaze, the low parts for design will be darker than the high points.
These are all in the 3/4 inch family.
